Brooke Shields was born in 1965 and was crazy for fame, she started off her career to fame as a child model. By the age of thirteen she was starting to become noticed and was offered her first ever acting role in the movie Pretty Baby.
At 14 she won the part of Emmeline in The Blue Lagoon and her career soared. But despite her starring in many movies and TV series she will always be remembered for her role as the young innocent girl stranded on a desert island.
Christopher Atkins (Richard)
Born in 1961 Christopher Atkins never had any intention to become an actor. After seeing an advert for the part as Richard his friend persuaded him to go for it. With no previous acting experience or training Christopher managed to win the part out of two thousand other applicants.
His career never took off like Brooke shields but he has managed to land numerous parts in TV shows and movies.
The Blue Lagoon is a raunchy film of passion and adventure. It follows the lives of two young children who are marooned on a beautiful island. As the years pass by the two grow up into teenagers and begin to explore their feelings for each other.
The movie was a huge success and made over $58 million at the box office. It was the ninth most successful film of 1980 and led to sequels and many hilarious parodies.
Because Brooke Shields was only fourteen at the time she was forbidden from doing any nude scenes so an older female double was called for when a hot scene was filmed. Brooke also had to have her hair glued on to her breasts so not reveal any naughty bits during filming.
